THE
WOODLAWN CEMETERY has a full Security Force that
patrols the cemetery 24 hours a day. During our hours of operation,
8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., visitors are greeted by a Security Officer at
our entrance gates located at the Main Entrance at Webster Avenue and
E. 233rd Street and the entrance next to the #4 Subway Station on Jerome
Avenue. Security Officers provide visitors with maps, information about
funeral services and assist with finding of lot locations.
Lot Owners in need of transportation to a gravesite
can ask Security for assistance. On a daily basis there are two Security
Officers assigned to transporting lot owners and helping with finding
locations. Security Officers will stay with individuals when asked and
will also pick up families from gravesites and return them to the cemetery
entrance.
